Romanby Parish Precept (Council Tax) for 2026-27

Residents will now be receiving their Council Tax Bills for the coming year from North Yorkshire Council (mine arrived through the letter box today), and as you can see, in the Romanby "bit" if you live inside our Parish boundary, we have asked for a 1.8% increase (£34.43 for Band D for the year for each household).

This equates to £2.86 per month per household in Romanby - up ONLY 5p per month from last year. This then provides us with approximately £83K for the year to do all that we can for our great Parish.

Please remember, we have absolutely NO input/control over any other part of your Council Tax bill, and we are by far the smallest part of it.

We hope you agree that this is good value for money for the services that your volunteer Parish Council Team provide; there have been some inevitable cost increases in these tricky times - grass-cutting, hedge cutting, playparks, gardens and open spaces, utilities and much more. This coming year we have some further new community initiatives planned.

Our Annual Public Meeting next month on the 14th of April will provide an opportunity for residents to hear about what we have done in the last year, and how we use your money to try and keep Romanby in good shape - please join us if you can - we will publish details nearer the time. We also publish our accounts each year, and these will also be explained at our annual meeting next month.

As always, we are happy to take questions and comments, here, or by email.

Best wishes,

Stuart Bradnam, Chairman,

and

David Atkinson, Chair of Finance,

on behalf of your Parish Council Team
