Consultation response Deadline to NYC – 10th July 2025

Hello Everyone,

A lot of Romanby residents are aware of a proposed planning application (from Lovell Homes) that has now been formally submitted for a proposed 55-dwelling and 73-bed care home development on the old Cricket Club/Arla land, Ainderby Road.

This is not the first time that a developer has looked to build on this land, and we strongly encourage residents to respond to the planning application (by the 10th of July 2025) - the application reference on the North Yorkshire Council (NYC) Planning Portal is ZB25/01064/FUL; we have also been asked (as statutory consultees) to comment on this proposal.

We always respond to applications like this on behalf of residents, and we use an online/paper survey to garner views and opinions to help with that; there are a lot of supporting documents with this application (available online via the NYC planning portal) which is more unusual in that a care home is being planned and not just houses. 

With all that in mind, we of course want to be able to accurately represent the views of residents and would ask that you take a few minutes to complete a short online questionnaire (see below) to inform our response; all comments will be treated in the strictest confidence.  We are also encouraging residents to respond directly to NYC via the NYC Planning portal.    

Deadline for comments to us please is Monday 7th July 2025 to allow us to meet NYC’s 10th July deadline - we will of course publish our response for all to see.
