PROPOSAL FOR A NEW COMMUNITY HUB - THE ROMANBY PAVILION

We will soon be seeking the views of local residents, businesses, and community groups on an exciting potential proposal to develop a new community hub in what is the the current sports pavilion/Parish office building at the Ainderby Road Leisure ground (ARLG), to be known as The Romanby Pavilion.

The proposed Pavilion would serve as a multi purpose, inclusive, and sustainable community hub, providing:

• A central space for gatherings, classes, and celebrations

• Opportunities for residents and families to use the space for gatherings and celebrations

• A venue for local voluntary groups

• Facilities (including the wider ARLG play/sport facilities) that support both physical and mental wellbeing

• A flexible venue that can adapt to future community needs

The Pavilion is proposed to be located in the current sports pavilion at the ARLG in Romanby, with the exact details of building internal conversion aspects to be confirmed following community input and technical assessments. There will be no change to the size or shape of the current building, and there would be no additional costs to residents for the building conversion.

The consultation will confirm one way or the other if there is a need for such a facility in the Parish - we will of course only proceed if there is. SB.
