ISSUE WITH LITTER/DOG WASTE BINS IN THE PARISH
Hi everyone,
We are very much aware (from complaints, and seeing it ourselves), as are many of you, that our many rubbish bins/dog waste bins around Romanby, are currently NOT being emptied in accordance with the contracted service we have bought on residents’ behalf from North Yorkshire Council (NYC).
For info – when we (the Parish Council) site and buy a bin from NYC, we are also paying NYC for an emptying service for the life of the bin (that is why they are relatively expensive when first bought). We – the Parish Council – as volunteers, have no capacity or resource to empty the large number of bins ourselves.
We have complained repeatedly to NYC over the last month, and we encourage residents to do the same please (link below), to hopefully help get this matter resolved. We have also complained to the leadership at NYC, as this has the potential to become a health hazard issue without quick resolution.
